996 - FAQ

Which model years will you be supporting?

At this time we are planning on only supporting the drive-by-wire vehicles of the 996 generation. That is, all 2002+ 996 911's will be supported.

Which engine should I use?

While other options are possible, we recommend the K24Z7 engine which can be sourced from the 2012-2015 Honda Civic Si.

Will the gauges still work?

Yes. If using our electronics package, the Link G4X will send and receive all necessary CAN messages to keep the gauge cluster working just like OEM - including enhanced CEL functions for knock, boost protection etc.

How about cruise control?

Yes. Cruise control will also function like OEM when using our electronics package.

Will I keep power steering and A/C?

Yes. Included in the total package is a CNC machined adapter block that will mate the OE power steering lines to the Honda power steering pump. The factory Honda A/C compressor is connected to the vehicle with our adapters which are included in the package as an optional extra. The Link G4X will receive the commands from the HVAC CANbus and control the compressor as required to maintain OEM quality levels of A/C functionality.

What components are included in the "total" swap package?

The total swap package will include everything required to convert your 911 into a perfectly working Honda powered Porsche. The kit includes our mounting solution, transmission adapter, clutch/flywheel, plug and play electronics powered by a Link G4X ECU, "no splicing" wiring harness & custom PCB, AC line conversion hardware, and PS conversion blocks. Everything will work just like OEM including the gauge cluster, PSM, ABS, and PASM (if equipped).

Will the wiring be difficult?

By following our included guide and media, you will have no problem wiring up this swap. In fact, it's as easy as plugging in the Motorsport grade wiring harness to the included custom PCB, plugging in the OE Porsche bulkhead connectors to that PCB, then simply plugging in the Link G4X and done! No cutting or splicing required.

Do you support the automatic transmissions?

No, we will be only supporting manual transmission cars at this time.

Will I need an upgraded radiator?

Luckily, even when opting for the forced induction package the OEM Porsche cooling is more than up to the task for street driving.
